Astrology Of The Disappearance Of Naya Rivera

Actress Naya Rivera (born January 12, 1987, 1:56 PM, Santa Monica California) is missing and is almost certainly dead, after going for a swim last Wednesday at Lake Picu, California.

Whenever a death happens, there is always more than one astrological factor at play. Death often happens during a large and potentially scary looking transit, but there are always other transits and other factors that play a part. Naya Riviera presents us with a classic case of that.

When looking at death in a birth chart (or by transits) is hard technical work, and requires looking at a number of factors. One of those factors is the condition of the 8th house. Naya’s Sun and Mercury are closely conjunct at 22 degrees Capricorn, in her 8th house. Transiting Jupiter and Pluto are currently conjunct at 23 degrees Capricorn.

Another factor that often appears in death are transits to the prenatal Eclipse: the last Eclipse that happened before the person was born. In the case of Naya Rivera the last Eclipse that happened before she was born was a Lunar Eclipse, with the Sun at 24 degrees Libra and the Moon at 24 degrees Aries. And yes that’s right, that point to is getting a close square from transiting Jupiter and Pluto.

That, in and of itself, is certainly not enough to go scaring someone with a prediction of death. However, this also happened during her Mars Return in early Aries. That can be a time when a person is willing to take greater risks than they would normally. It might also make someone too impulsive for their own good.

The general ruler of “health” in the birth chart is the Sixth House. Her Sixth House was Scorpio, with its ruling planet Pluto in the 6th house. This can often indicate good health overall. But having transiting Uranus opposite that Pluto, ruling the 6th house? That could possibly trigger something like a surprise asthma attack while swimming.

Finally, I have been unable to track down what time Naya probably drowned at. But if it was around 11 AM or earlier, the Moon was Void of Course. This is a classic for things not going according to plans. At the very least, her trip to the lake that morning would have happened under those circumstances.

As time goes on, it seems less likely that Naya Rivera is alive… and that her son has lost his mother. This, as much as anything, should be a reminder for us all to be more careful and not take unnecessary risks.
