Coping with COVID-19: An Astrologer’s perspective

Cindy McKean on Coping with COVID-19

Astrologer Cindy McKean spoke on the radio airwaves today sending out a message about the COVID-19 pandemic that is quite unique from all other astrologers out there with predictions of doom and gloom. Instead of spreading fear, panic or saying something just out of hype, she brings us a message of hope and reveals an unusual piece of advice for those who are stuck at home and suffering from loneliness.

Cindy McKean is quite the high calibur astrologer and is very humble. Her success and reputation has famously dubbed her “The Kansas City Astrologer”, and she is the beautiful face of Kansas City Astrology & Tarot LLC. You can check her out at www.KansasCityAstrology.com

Today, a PBS owned podcast called The Filter aired an interview with her and other people from various spiritual and religious backgrounds in the pursuit of trying to get their perspective on the COVID-19 crisis the world is facing amidst the well known placement of the Jupiter and Pluto conjunction in Capricorn. Typical of sensationalized media organizations, the podcast spent most of its time slot speaking with a Priest about his belief in the end of times. The podcast did not air most of the astrological information that McKean provided, but what we do get out of the cutting room floor is a gem of wisdom that anyone who does not know astrology can understand.

In this interview, McKean reminds listeners that the role of spirituality in this time, and in fact any time throughout history is the quality of being concerned with “the human spirit (or your soul) as opposed to the material or physical things”. During this global lockdown, she reminds us that all 3 levels of experience are being deeply affected: the physical, mental and spiritual.

She reminds us that the physical experience is the most obvious as everyone is confined to their homes as well as those affected by the virus. Mentally, it is challenging for many to learn to cope with the idea of not having freedom “and that in turn starts to affect you spiritually”.

“Your spirit is the non-physical part of you that is the seat of your emotions, your character and your soul. Again, it starts by knowing thyself, even something as simple as knowing what your zodiac sign is would be a good clue. But if you’re not into the things like zodiacs and tarot cards or that other end of spirituality (the metaphysical side), you can learn to start to ground yourself through connecting with the ethers, with God, the ultimate power, whatever God is to you.”

“The other thing is to look at this to look at this as an opportunity rather than a challenge. As we’re indoors, we’re not getting mixed with other people’s energy. And yeah, we’re missing out on that part, but we can still connect through phone or video. Yes it’s not as great as physically meeting if you want to exchange energy, but think of all the people you’re missing out on with the negative energy that they carry that you may not realize is being transferred! It’s interesting to see how much that really ties in with something as invisible as a virus. This is real. And so is our energy flow.”

“And finally another way [that this is affecting people spiritually] is that you’ve heard the old adage that ‘cleanliness is next to godliness’, and that’s very true. Whenever you have the environment around you not just clean, but also organized, that will bring your spirituality back down to calmness and a sense of completion or healing even.”

I couldn’t agree more, and this is the perfect message as today the Moon was in Cancer when this aired earlier this morning. The message globally is to ‘keep clean’ in order to prevent infection and transmission of viruses and germs. I’m sure many of you are looking at your home right now after reading this and feel prompted to clean and organize your homes. I always feel satisfied when I have a clean home and right now I am going to do this right now myself. Thank you Cindy!
