Mercury Retrograde In Libra: A Kinder, Gentler Approach

Last time here, I took a less than completely serious look at the upcoming Mercury retrograde. This time around? I’m actually going to give you some practical ideas for how I think we can get the best bank for our bucks out of this retrograde.

Mercury turns retrograde on Monday, and stays that way until October 17th. Normally this would be a time when I (and every other astrologer out there with a keyboard) would be making all the usual pronouncements. Double-check your proofreading. Be careful who you send that email to. Don’t be surprised if the car breaks down or the elevator is out of service. You know, the usual.

There’s also the usual routine about how Mercury retrograde is a better time for thinking and planning and self-reflection than it is for taking direct action. There’s some truth to that, but to be honest, it’s not like you can shut everything down during a Mercury retrograde. You have to play the cards you’re dealt.

That’s why I’m proposing a different course of action this time around.

Since Mercury turns retrograde in Libra, which is the so-called “relationship sign,” I think now is a time to be consciously more gentle with vacations. Maybe try to be more understanding with people, even when they are obviously and infuriatingly wrong about something important.

Yes, I know. This won’t be easy for a lot of us. Become way too much of a keyboard warrior in the last year and a half. But maybe just this once For a short three weeks, We can try to talk about our ideas rather than shelter beliefs at each other. Maybe we can stop and think and use a little reason rather than post snarky memes at each other.

Or, you know… something something Saturn square Uranus, up yours pal! It’s your choice.
