Uranus Turns Retrograde In Taurus and OH GOD NOW WHAT?!?

Uranus has just turned retrograde at 14 degrees Taurus, and will remain retrograde until next January. Should you panic?

No. I don’t think so. There is a common misconception that a retrograde planet is somehow defective or less powerful or more awful. We see this most often with Mercury retrograde. Mercury, however. is a rather personal planet. It makes much more of an appearance in our daily activities than Uranus does. So naturally, we’re going to feel the effects of it going retrograde more than with Uranus. I would also like to point out that in my experience, the further a planet is from the Sun, the less harmful the retrograde period seems to be.

However, we are facing some special circumstances this year. Did you notice how the wheels fell off the wagon with the world in general in 2020? That would be the aftereffects of the Saturn-Pluto conjunction. Meanwhile, 2021 has been the year that we all argue over what to do with the wreckage of 2020. That would be due to Saturn square Uranus.

Perhaps the most important thing to keep in mind about this retrograde is that it means the third and final exact hit of Saturn square Uranus is approaching. The first was in February of this year, the second was on June 14th, and the final exact square will be on December 24.

The most important thing to keep in mind, personally, is that if you have any major placements in your chart between about 8 and 14 degrees of the Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo. Scorpio, or Aquarius), you have undoubtedly had the Saturn-Uranus square mess with your life somehow. We are now building up to the final exact hit from that aspect, which will continue to be in effect until early 2022.

So: should you panic? No. Prepare. Evaluate what you have learned from the big scattered mess that 2021 may have been for you, and start working on solutions for what has gone wrong. Remember that an astrological forecast isn’t a pronouncement of absolute doom, it’s more like a weather report.

But for those of you with those major placements in those degrees of the Signs I mentioned? Yeah, it’s time to dust off your umbrella again. Sorry about that.
