Using The New Moon In Pisces: A (Somewhat) Practical Guide

I’m a big fan of putting astrology to practical use. Your transits and your birth chart aren’t just things that happened to you. They are things that you can work with and understand to get better results.

I’m also a big fan of telling people to set their intentions for the coming month whenever there is a New Moon. This New Moon is particularly charged up for making changes in your life, and I’m going to tell you why — and then I’m going to break my own advice.

The New Moon in Pisces is exact on Sunday at 10:32 AM Eastern time. All New Moons are unique, but this one has a couple of additional features which make it more powerful than the usual.

First of all, the Sun-Moon conjunction at 4 degrees Pisces is in a very close sextile to Mars. This implies that there will be plenty of energy available for you to make the breakthroughs you need to make in your life. Want to start that workout routine? This may be the month you finally dig to the bottom of that laundry pile to re-discover your exercise bike!

Second, the New Moon in Pisces in a close sextile to Uranus. Whereas the aspects from Mars provided energy and bravery, the aspect from Uranus comes with a certain inventiveness, creativity, and originality.

Normally I’d be telling you to set out your goals and consciously write them out or focus on them. Not this month though. Even there is all this spectacularly useful energy associated with this New Moon, let’s not forget the nature of Pisces.

Here’s what I’m trying to say: don’t go forcing your ambitions and goals on the Universe. Keep in mind what you want (or what you think you want) from your life and then sit down and then… listen. Listen to The Universe. There is Great Wisdom trying to get through to you on this New Moon — will you hear it?
