Uranus In Taurus: The Unsupervised Toddler
As you can well imagine, I look at the transits happening at any given point in time. For both purposes of doing readings and writing forecasts, It’s always good to know what’s happening and what’s coming. Mars square Neptune this week? Lots of poorly-focused energy.
But now and for the next couple of weeks, we have a particularly strange thing happening. Or rather — not happening. I didn’t notice it at first. It’s a bit like the clue in the Sherlock Holmes story “The Adventure of Silver Blaze,” where the most important clue involves a dog not barking in the night.
Now and for the next couple of weeks, Uranus isn’t getting any major aspects from any other planet. I’m not counting the occasional transit from the Moon. Those are consequential but they’re over with pretty quick. I’m talking about every other planet astrology uses, even the Sun.
You might think that this is neutral news, neither good nor bad. Frankly I’m not so sure. In my experience, an unaspected Uranus can be a little like an under-supervised toddler.
If you have spent much time around toddlers, you probably had an experience something like this:
You’re busy doing something in the other room, and the toddler is ripping around the living room making noise, bumping into things, singing that god-awful children song over and over again, or whatever. Every once in awhile you yell at the kid to keep it down, or have to stop what you’re doing and check in on him.
But then Junior grows quiet. You don’t notice it at first, and you’re pleased that you’re finally getting some work done. But then the silence remains and you get suspicious, so you go and have a look.
Sure enough, there’s Junior, trying to stick a butter knife into a power outlet, or playing with matches. Or maybe Junior wandered outside and is now cheerfully greeting complete strangers on the street, or in the middle of the street.
Have a look at your birth chart and figure out which House Taurus falls in. Have a look to see if you have any planets in the early degrees of the Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius). Don’t be too surprised if, in the next couple weeks, matters concerning that House of your birth chart or that placement get more than a little weird.
