Your Zodiac Symbol Has Changed: Libra
The Secret Masters Of Astrological Knowledge (SMOAK) have declared that the traditional symbols for all twelve Zodiac Signs will be replaced and updated effective November 1st of this year. How powerful are we? Rest assured that, whenever a famous person has a project that fails or has things blow up in their face, it’s because they did not consult with us. On the other hand, when a famous person has a project that goes brilliantly, or gets away with murder, did they consult with us? I’m not saying. What part of “secret” don’t you get?
THE SIGN: Libra (September 23 – October 22)
FORMER SYMBOL: The Scales
WHAT THE FORMER SYMBOL GOT RIGHT: Libra strives to maintain a sense of balance in their relationships (even when those don’t work out), their diet (even though there’s that awesome fast food joint right across the street), and their budget (despite two-day shipping with Amazon Prime). However, as the only inanimate object in the Zodiac, this seems insufficient.
NEW SYMBOL: The Mantis Shrimp (various members of the order Stomatopoda)
WHAT THE NEW SYMBOL ADDS: The Mantis Shrimp has two eyes that can move independently of each other, and they have the most complex visual system discovered on earth. Humans, for example, have three types of photo-receptor cells to distinguish colors. The Mantis Shrimp can have between 12 and 16 types of photo-receptor cells. Therefore, no other animal on the planet can speak with such authority when it tells you that no, that blouse does not go with that skirt.
Just in case you thought it was all color coordinating fabrics with the Mantis Shrimp — it’s not. They are capable of attacking their prey with such incredible force that they actually shear the water in front of them into water vapor. This attack is so powerful that even if it misses, it can stun their prey. This is similar to the effect that a Libra can have when they’ve decided that their next relationship is going to be with you.
