AMC, Sony Offering Exclusive Spider-Man: No Way Home NFTs To Fans Who Purchase Advance Tickets
Theater chain AMC and Sony Pictures are joining forces to give away more than 100 unique Spider-Man NFTs to the first 86,000 customers to buy tickets online for the upcoming film Spider-Man: No Way Home. The highly-anticipated sequel will finally be hitting theaters on December 17.According to a release, members of AMC Theaters’s Stubs Premiere, A-List, and AMC Investor Connect programs will be eligible for the offer, which was announced on November 29–which is also when tickets go on sale. The NFTs–or non-fungible token, which is basically another cryptocurrency similar to Bitcoin–were designed by animation house Cub Studios.Spider-Man: No Way Home promises to pit Spidey against a ton of villains, including villains featured in Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3, and The Amazing Spider-Man. Holland confirmed in the same interview that Jamie Foxx’s Electro, featured in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will appear in the film as well. In addition to Spidey, Holland’s Uncharted film is on the way. Meanwhile, Disney recently delayed the entire 2022 slate of MCU films.Spider-Man: No Way Home is directed by Jon Watts, who helmed both the previous MCU Spidey movies. Tom Holland returns as Peter, with Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Jon Favreau as “Happy” Hogan, Marisa Tomei as May, and Benedict Wong as Wong.Producer Amy Pascal recently confirmed that Holland will continue to play Spider-Man in additional forthcoming films–potentially extending to at least another trilogy. If Holland’s recent comments in other interviews are also true, those movies will be coming quickly, because he hopes to step down from playing Spider-Man by 2026.
