What does this mean?

How this transit might manifest.

This transit, also known as “the Jupiter return,” happens approximately every 12 years. It can often come with an outburst of optimism, or even observable good fortune. However, this can turn out to be a relatively lightweight transit if you don’t roll up your sleeves and do something with all the good energy and good feelings. If you have needed more optimism in your life, you will get it. If you are naturally prone to excessive behaviors, now is the time to be cautious. Try not to overdo things. In general, it is a good time to form or solidify work and business partnerships and deal with legal matters. There is also an opportunity to solidify a relationship into a more committed form. It may also serve as an excellent time to begin a new line of work or become self-employed.

If Jupiter is the ruler of the First House:

You will generally be well-liked and thought of by others as a source of good cheer and/or encouragement. In fact, you may have this effect on others even when you aren't feeling it so much yourself. You are likely good at putting people at ease and boosting their sense of self-worth. Consider taking a more philosophical approach to your relationships. You may find it easier to gain weight more than others, or more than you would like to.

If Jupiter is the ruler of the Second House:

You are often thought of as being "lucky" with money, perhaps through an inheritance or by simply being able to turn some up when it is needed. Be careful not to rely on this too much, because this placement can also make you prone to over-spending. You will get good results from focusing on your self-esteem and doing things that boost it. In general, you function best from a basis of personal comfort.

If Jupiter is the ruler of the Third House:

You have a wide-ranging and expansive mind, and are probably pretty good at picking up and understanding new skills and ideas. You are probably good at seeing "the big picture," and can use this skill effectively when it comes to making long-term plans for yourself or others. You are a good conversationalist and can easily keep the banter going in social situations. You will likely get benefits from one or more family members.

If Jupiter is the ruler of the Fourth House:

When you build a firm but comfortable home and base of operations for yourself, the sky is the limit! At least one of your parents probably set you up for success from an early age, whether you actively realize it or not. Working from home or being self-employed with a home office could prove highly rewarding for you. You have a better than average chance of a successful and materially comfortable retirement.

If Jupiter is the ruler of the Fifth House:

You enjoy a fairly playful regard to life, and probably enjoy sports and games in one form or another. You are naturally creative. You are good with the arts, and with children, and might ultimately gain material benefit from working with either one or the other. You have a natural fondness for romance and are probably pretty fun to be on a date with. You bring a natural exuberance for life to the table.

If Jupiter is the ruler of the Sixth House:

This placement may not guarantee excellent health at all times, but it certainly helps that way. Focusing on physical self-improvement may benefit you in unexpected ways. Keep an eye on your diet. Your work habits are generally good, and you may excel at finding new and better ways to perform routine tasks. In general, you are a charitable person and genuinely enjoy being helpful to those in need.

If Jupiter is the ruler of the Seventh House:

You have a natural enthusiasm for relationships, whether it's your own committed partnership, how business partnerships work, or in forming new bonds. This doesn't guarantee success in and of itself in those fields, but it certainly helps. Equality is important to you. You can be a real charmer and use that skill to your advantage. You may often find yourself playing the role of peace-maker or mediator.

If Jupiter is the ruler of the Eighth House:

You take interest in, and gain benefit from, many things that are considered "hidden" or "forbidden" in life. Matters involving the occult and/or sex could particularly be a draw for you. You probably have a talent for research, investigation, or uncovering information that others may have overlooked. You are likely generous with your partners, and probably have good luck with accessing the resources of others.

If Jupiter is the ruler of the Ninth House:

You have an excellent sense for things related to truth and justice. You know many things but are often striving to learn more. You might make an excellent teacher or student, and will benefit from Higher Education. Finding true meaning in life is important to you. You will enjoy travel, interacting with foreigners or people from very different backgrounds than yours, and exotic cuisines. Personal freedom is a must-have.

If Jupiter is the ruler of the Tenth House:

You are good at business and with your career in general but may feel that somehow you'd do a better job at running the show than whoever is doing so now. This might lead to some unintended suspicion from your superiors that you are "gunning for them." The status you earn in life is a part of your self-esteem. Be careful not to focus too much on "success" and not enough on "why you're doing this in the first place."

If Jupiter is the ruler of the Eleventh House:

You are excellent at forming social connections and managing a group. You may be drawn to charitable causes, and may in turn benefit from those activities. Having a forward-looking outlook in life is important for your happiness. You are at heart a humanitarian and are capable of seeing both the forest and the individual trees, and how the two can interact to make things better for everyone.

If Jupiter is the ruler of the Twelfth House:

This placement may give you great faith in life, even when the surrounding evidence may be bleaker than you hoped for. You can ofter get your best results from working by yourself (or for yourself). You will find a lot of restorative energy in meditation or quiet, solitary contemplation of life. Although you may not necessarily be drawn to traditional religions, you are probably a creature of faith somehow.
