Astrology: Learning From Recurring Cycles (or Not)
Astrology, like life itself, is a series of recurring cycles. Although it’s never exactly the same thing twice, typically your Mars Return or your Saturn Square or whatever will reflect certain themes that presented themselves last time that aspect occurred.
Although no two cycles are exactly the same, there are often underlying themes. Whether or not a particular aspect event happens at any given time, in part who well or poorly it will turn out for you depends on what lessons you learn from the last time it happened.
Consider what happened around this time last year at the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, in Sturgis South Dakota. At that time there was widespread concern about the spread of covid-19. Concern was further amplified by the lack of precautions and social distancing. Although one could argue that in an event like happened last year, “social distancing” is hardly possible in the town of about 7,000 people went over 400,000 people suddenly show up one week for a visit.
So what has changed for this year’s rally? Well, a few things. There is still no mask mandate. However, Town Council decided to permit open air drinking in public spaces. This means that the gas will not all be packed into the same few bars. That might make some sort of difference, maybe… I guess.
Here are the two most important differences for the 2021 rally. One, the much more contagious version of the virus out there, the Delta variant, is spreading rapidly across America.
The other significant change? Instead of the over 400,000 visitors last year, the numbers are predicted to be closer to 700,000 for this year’s rally.
The chart for the closing ceremonies at Sturgis 2020 bore the earmarks of the beginning of a super spreader event, as I Illustrated in my previous blog entry on the subject. That hasn’t changed. The aspects for this year’s closing ceremonies are if anything even more indicative of a super-spreader event. The ruler of the 6th House (public health in an event chart) is in a close square to Jupiter… and that Moon is Void of Course. A Void of Course Moon is ripe for “unintended consequences.”
Last year’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally resulted in over a quarter of a million additional cases of covid-19, according to a CDC study, once all those bikers returned home and reunited with friends and family. What’s going to happen now that there is a more contagious variant and far more bodies packed in the same close space? Well, if we look at the chart for the closing ceremonies for this year… not to mention “World History December 2019-Present,” the indicators are even worse.
Recurring cycles. You either learn from them or you don’t. Astrology can guide you, but it can’t stop you from being stupid.
