Astrology: My 2021 Oscars Prediction

I am posting this blog entry less than an hour before the beginning of tonight’s Oscar ceremonies. And I want to make a bold prediction.

These ceremonies are going to kind of suck.

I’m not saying this to simply join in on the bandwagon of people who have been complaining about the Oscars for the last few years. I’m not saying it because the ratings are expected to take a dive, as they have for the last several years sinice Oscar’s Pluto opposition in 2016. I’m not even saying it because it’s been a terrible year overall for movie theaters, and most people are complaining that they haven’t seen any of the nominees.

I’m saying this because the Oscars have a birth chart. Specifically, May 16, 1929, 5 PM Los Angeles. This gives the Oscars ceremonies in general a Leo Midheaven (are you surprised?) at 8 degrees. This in turn is ruled by the Sun, which for the initial ceremony was at 25 degrees Taurus. And those points are all taking a beating tonight.

For tonight’s ceremony, the transiting Sun, Venus, and Uranus will all be squaring that Leo Midheaven. Meanwhile, the Midheaven ruler in the Oscars birth chart is getting a square from transiting Jupiter. Furthermore, the ceremony begins at moonrise, with the Moon and local Ascendant square Oscar’s Pluto.

You don’t have to be a master astrologer to know that that all sounds kind of crappy.

So if you find yourself not wanting to watch the Oscars, or turning it off halfway through, or whatever, don’t blame Hollywood. Don’t blame a year without movie theaters. Don’t blame the pandemic or filmmakers with political agendas or whatever. Blame the astrology. That’s what I’m going to do.

Now pass the popcorn and let’s find out if there’s a new instalment of 90 Day Fiancé on tonight…
