“Bad” Planets, Good Results: Venus in Aries, Venus in Scorpio

Venus is often thought of as “the love planet,” despite the fact that love is a heck of a lot more complicated than just one planet can manage. It has a lot to do with romance and sweetness though, so it certainly comes in handy on a date or in a relationship.

An astrologer going on a first date with someone is likely to get pretty excited if that potential new partner has Venus in Taurus or Venus in Libra, the two Signs that Venus rules. And if that astrologer just doesn’t know people (or is outright bad at astrology), he or she might be concerned if that date has Venus in Aries or Scorpio.

Let me set you all straight on this, right now.

You see, Venus rules things like sugar and baked goods. Venus is a little like a puff pastry: delicious and inviting, but sort of flaky and insubstantial on its own. This, however, is not a problem with Venus in Aries or Scorpio.

Venus in Aries has a powerful thirst for love and affection, and if she has you in her sights, you’re going to know it right away. Let’s not forget the old rhyme about “sugar and spice,” shall we? and while we’re at it, if any of you have the idea that a debilitated Venus somehow means you’re not going to be attractive or talented, explain Marilyn Monroe to me.

And if you like it intense, you’re going to love Venus in Scorpio. Venus in Scorpio is a tragically underrated placement, and it lends a distinct sexiness to a planet that might otherwise be a bit too much of a wallflower for her own good. And while we’re at it, I’m not sure many people accuse Leonardo DiCaprio of being unattractive or untalented either, do they?
