Blood Wolf Supermoon Lunar Eclipse Panic Panic Panic (Or Not)!
Centuries of observation have determined that there are two things that can be predicted to happen on a regular basis:
-Eclipses
-People claiming that an Eclipse is a sign of the end of the world.
This Monday brings us a Blood Wolf Moon Supermoon Lunar Eclipse. Yes I know that sounds pretty heavy metal, but there is no reason to panic, I assure you. A Wolf Moon is simply a term some Native American cultures apply to the Full Moon at this time of year. A Supermoon is when a Full Moon occurs when the Moon is at perigee. Simply put, the Moon’s orbit around the Earth is not a perfect circle. Sometimes the Moon is closer to the Earth than at other times. When a Full Moon occurs when the moon is at perigee, it looks particularly large and significant.
There is no inherent reason for the world to panic over this lunar eclipse any more than it should over any other one. If you are old enough to be reading this, you’ve made it through plenty of Lunar Eclipses already, and so has the world.
Paul Begley, an Evangelical preacher from Indiana, claim this particular Lunar Eclipse is a sign of the second coming of Jesus. In part, this is apparently because it happens on the second anniversary of the inauguration of President Donald Trump. To this I can only say: yes, but it’s also the 600th anniversary of Henry V completing the conquest of Normandy. What, that doesn’t count for anything?
From an astrological perspective there are only two things you need to know. First of all, unless 0 degrees Leo or Aquarius makes a major aspect to an important point in your birth chart, this is basically just going to be a louder than average Full Moon… so brace yourself for a little more irritability than usual from the people with Sun, Moon, or Rising in those signs.
Second, and perhaps more importantly: remember back in 2014 when Pastor John Hagee was selling a lot of books claiming that the four Blood Moons of that year signaled the beginning of the end? Well the world didn’t end when exactly the same thing occurred in 1494 or 1950, so don’t panic about this Eclipse.
