Saturn In Aquarius (Now With Flying Killer Robots!)

Whenever Saturn changes Signs, there is a temptation to overplay the nature of the Sign that it is entering. A good case in point is Saturn in Aquarius, Aquarius has an association with newness and innovation and technology. Back in March of 2020, when Saturn entered Aquarius, an astrologer would have probably been overplaying his or her hand talking about things like “the Terminator” suddenly becoming reality. Honestly, life is rarely as exciting as we imagine it could be, for either good or ill. It could be for better or worse. You’ve got to be careful combining your metaphors.

However, a news story has recently emerged from March of 2020 that fits that Terminator metaphor way too well for my comfort.

According to a United Nations Security report about the Libyan Civil War, Libyan forces used Turkish-made Kargu-2 (“Hawk”) drones against retreating enemy forces. Now, drone warfare is nothing new, but there is a new an interesting wrinkle to this. You see, the Kargu-2 drone doesn’t simply fly out under remote control and blow things up. It is programmed to autonomously seek out and attack human targets. And in March of 2020 this is apparently what started happening.

That’s right, a flying killer robot designed to be sent out to a specific location and then autonomously tracked down likely enemies and kill them without human intervention. Yes. This is a thing that can actually happen now.

But hey… it’s not like between now and when Saturn leaves Aquarius in 2023 that any domestic terrorists or people with a workshop and a grudge will be bold and innovative enough (Aquarius) to hack into one of those readily-available civilian drones and set it loose on a killing spree (Saturn)… right?

Right…?

Anyway, have a nice day everyone!
