Selena Gomez Has A Pluto Problem

Selena Gomez is having a difficult time recently, and the astrology involved makes two things very clear. One is that things are likely to get worse for her before they get better, and the other is that ultimately she should be able to overcome the problems she is facing.

Selena was born July 22nd, 1992 in Grand Prairie Texas. Like everyone in her age group, she was born during the Uranus-Neptune conjunction in Capricorn. Also like everyone in her age group, transiting Pluto has been conjunct that point for a few years now, and it has made for significant upheavals. She has recently checked into a hospital, and we don’t know if it’s for medical reasons or psychiatric or a combination of the two. Heartbreak at her former boyfriend Justin Bieber getting married recently may very well be a part of it. As for her health: we know that she has lupus and required a kidney transplant in 2017. In astrology, the kidneys are ruled by Venus. Selena’s Venus is in Leo, ruled by the Sun in Cancer (note that having the ruler of a planet in your birth chart in the Sign before that planet is often an indicator of difficulties).

If you were born in the early 90s, transiting Pluto on top of your Uranus-Neptune conjunction has been affecting you to one degree or another. For many of you, you may feel that life has been out to get you in the last couple of years. Don’t panic. The upcoming Saturn-Pluto conjunction in early 2020 we will probably create a lot of drama for Selena and others born around the same time… but that conjunction will also be sextile her natal Pluto. This promises to give her the ability to make some serious breakthroughs with her long-standing issues.
