The Astrology Of Josh Duggar

Josh Duggar, formerly of the reality TV series 19 Kids and Counting, was recently arrested for possession of child pornography. But what can we really tell about him, using astrology, if we don’t have his time of birth?

We know that he was born March 3, 1988 in Tontitown, Arkansas. We know he’s a Pisces with Moon in Virgo, but that doesn’t tell us much specific about recent events in his life. However, given the sexual nature of the offence, we should have a look at the condition of his Venus and his Mars — the two planets most associated with the sex drive.

His Mars is strongly placed in Capricorn, but it is in a fairly close conjunction to his Neptune. This can make for a sex drive that is confused or misplaced somehow. Venus represents the ability to express affection, and Josh’s Venus is closely conjunct Jupiter. It might be an oversimplification to say this represents “big love,” but that phrase kind of captures it. Too big to control, perhaps?

It is telling that this arrest comes when transiting Pluto is square that Venus-Jupiter conjunction in his birth chart. And with Saturn approaching the conjunction to his Mercury, we can assume that Mercury is a powerful player in his chart somehow, but again without the time of birth it’s hard to say.

So: why does it seem like I’m almost being vague, when that’s not my usual style? Well, I’m doing it deliberately, and I’m doing it for good reason.

Ultimately, we can look at his birth chart and pick out this or that factor that makes us think that he was somehow born to be a child molester. Let’s not forget that this isn’t exactly “news.” In 2015 (when the transiting Nodes were square his Mars and Neptune), it came out that Josh Duggar had molested five girls between 2002 and 2003, when he was a teenager. And as it turns out, two of those girls were his siblings.

Nothing in his birth chart guarantees that he was going to be a child molester. We always always always have moral choice. Never use a belief system, whether it’s astrology or religion or anything else, to justify it when someone does something terrible. Never. Doing so might, in the long run, make you a bad astrologer. Or, much worse: a bad human being.
