The Moon In Gemini Question
Fundamentally one of the most important placements in astrology is the Moon Sign. In your birth chart, it indicates your basic emotional responses to life. By transit, it reflects the overall mood happening at any given time.
Although how you may experience the Moon in any given Sign will depend on both the aspects that it makes to other planets, and makes to the placements in your birth chart, the Moon in any Sign always lends some sort of basic stamp of its nature to any day.
Think of the Moon’s placement as asking a fundamental question of us as far as how we react to the day’s events.
Today the Moon is in Gemini, so here is the Moon in Gemini question:
Can you name a time when you were able to talk yourself into (or out of) a situation that you probably shouldn’t have gotten into (or out of) — but managed it anyway?
MY ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION:
When I was 17 years old I lived in a town called Kelowna. It’s the kind of tourist town with wineries and a lake and relatively mild weather by Canadian standards. It’s a tourist destination.
This also means that there is precious little for a 17-year-old to do there unless they are willing to make up their own entertainment. And honestly, the things a 17-year-old can get up to…
It was 12:45 a.m. and I was driving down the main drag from one end of town to the other, returning from a friend’s place. Midnight and there was absolutely no one else around. A popular single of the time was “Putting Out Fire” by David Bowie, from the Cat People soundtrack . It’s about 7 1/2 minutes long… the kind of song a late-night DJ puts on when his girlfriend or his dealer drops by for a visit.
So naturally, I decided to see if I could drive from one end of town to another in that 7 and 1/2 minutes. And just because I was feeling all the freedom and wonder of being 17 years old, I also rolled down stuck my leg out the window while I was driving.
Of course, I got pulled over by a cop. This put me in an awkward situation because first of all, I couldn’t afford a fine. Also, I couldn’t afford to have my dad find out that I used to wait until he was asleep and steal the car on a regular basis.
I was panicked for about 10 seconds while the cop approached the car, and then I decided how I would handle this. I explained to the police officer that since it was 45 minutes after midnight I was worried that my dad had forgotten to take his heart medication and I was rushing home to make sure he was still alive. In all fairness, my dad did have a bad heart but it didn’t require medication.
The cop but not without first asking why I had my leg hanging out the window. I sheepishly said “…leg cramp?”
Yeah. I really got away with that.
