Venus rules both romance and candy, and this week brings with it some enhanced opportunities for a bit of both, if you make the effort. Just make sure you guard your heart and/or brush your teeth afterwards, depending on your cravings.

Venus is still retrograde, and that might make it difficult to get a lasting love affair off the ground (or get an existing relationship to run more smoothly) this week. But Wednesday — Halloween — brings a couple of interesting opportunities. That’s the day when Venus leaves Scorpio and returns to Libra, which is one of the Signs that Venus rules. So that should improve your romantic odds, right? At the very least, if you need a change-up in your relationship situation, this could be the week to make your big move.

Not so fast: Venus is also making an opposition to Uranus in Taurus. That aspect can be a lot of fun, but it’s not very stable. On top of that, let’s not forget that there’s also the sexual aspect to romance, and that’s ruled by Mars. Mars is currently in Aquarius, which has more of a reputation for sudden excitement than for long-term stability. Since Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, you could say that “freaky and weird” is in charge of romance this week.

But hey: why not? Have you ever noticed how adults act at Halloween parties? When people put on disguises and have a few drinks, they can get into all sorts of wild hi-jinks that they wouldn’t normally involve themselves in. Hey: if you were a ninja or a pirate all the time, you’d probably behave a little more boldly too. So maybe you should just go ahead and have fun with it. But be careful: sometimes there’s a razor blade hidden all that sweet new candy….
