Astrology This Week: Venus Square Neptune

For the rest of this week, Venus in Sagittarius will be square Neptune in Pisces. On the one hand, this could lay the groundwork for some exceptionally powerful and deep feelings of love and affection, and could lend extra depth to a current relationship.

On the other hand though? You’ve probably heard that line from 1 Corinthians 13: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” That’s true of course, but when it comes to romantic relationships? The Apostle Paul could have easily added something along the lines of “it’s not always the sharpest tool in the shed either.” Sure, love (or the pursuit of it) can be great… but has that sort of thing always resulted in the wisest of decisions you’ve made for yourself over the course of your life? Probably not…

So go ahead and pursue Love… but try not to get carried away this week, and try to handle things wisely, okay?

(SCENE: a local park. A MALE PIGEON is wooing a FEMALE PIGEON)

MALE PIGEON: I don’t care how wrong our forbidden our love is! For I am The Mighty Eagle, and I take what I want!

FEMALE PIGEON: Take me! For I am The Swan Of Your Dreams!

MALE PIGEON: I’m going to make passionate love to you ALL NIGHT LONG! (MALE PIGEON hops on top of FEMALE PIGEON and begins thrusting) And our children will grow up to be dragons! Dragons who are doctors and lawyers! (He finishes and hops back to the ground)

(There is an awkward pause as the two pigeons contemplate each other — and realize that they are just pigeons after all. And not very exceptional ones at that.)

FEMALE PIGEON: That was, um… nice.

MALE PIGEON: Yeah, hey… Uh, I gotta go. See you around.

FEMALE PIGEON: Yeah, sure, you bet.
