The Moon In Cancer Question

Fundamentally one of the most important placements in astrology is the Moon Sign. In your birth chart, it indicates your basic emotional responses to life. By transit, it reflects the overall mood happening at any given time.

Although how you may experience the Moon in any given Sign will depend on both the aspects that it makes to other planets, and makes to the placements in your birth chart, the Moon in any Sign always lends some sort of basic stamp of its nature to any day.

Think of the Moon’s placement as asking a fundamental question of us as far as how we react to the day’s events.

Did you ever get lost (or were abandoned) as a child?

MY ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION:

You see a lot of people on Facebook in their mid-40s or older talking about how free-range and unsupervised their childhoods were. If you are a younger person reading these words, let me reassure you that this was absolutely the case.

I used to wander away from home all the time without telling my parents where I was going, because I honestly didn’t know. I just like to wander. Often as not, this ended with me being completely lost and going into a complete stranger’s home to phone my folks for a ride home.

Today if a child suddenly goes missing in a mall, all the doors get locked and no one is allowed to leave until the child turns up. When I was a kid though I managed to wander away from my parents about ten minutes before the department store closed. I heard the announcement that the store would be closing in five minutes. Then I heard the announcement for the store was now closed. Then I heard them locking the doors.

I assumed that my parents went home without me. This may reveal more about my upbringing than I would normally share.

Yeah, I was pretty frightened. But at the same time, I started to think about staying there overnight. They did have beds on this play after all, and snacks. And a pet section!

My parents didn’t leave me there of course. It wasn’t long before I heard them walking around with an employee calling for me.

In hindsight? I almost wish I’d stayed in the store overnight. All night alone with the pets!
