The Powerful Eclipse of 2020

There are two different types of eclipses, a solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse. A Solar eclipse is when the moon passes in front of the Sun and blocks out its light. A Lunar eclipse is when the Earth comes in between the Sun and the Moon and blocks the Sun’s light out from reflecting on the Moon’s surface. Some Lunar Eclipses turn a bright red color when the light of the Sun refracts through the Earth’s atmosphere, this is also famously known as a Blood Moon.
Since ancient times, eclipses have been a significant factor in astrological prediction and have been feared as omens of bad luck and natural disasters. Eclipses are very powerful lunations. A Lunation refers to a New Moon or Full Moon, and Eclipses are New or Full Moons that are, shall we say, “on steroids”. They are not your typical New or Full Moon. Eclipses in astrology are windows of personal transformation, and are key to predicting worldly events. Some eclipses are stronger than others, and the one coming in 2020 is a very strong eclipse. Eclipses not only are notorious for bringing about natural disasters, but they are known for bringing about other types of large scale events, including war and financial disasters.
On August 21st 2017, we had a Solar Eclipse that was called “The Great American Eclipse” which fell in the tropical zodiac sign of Leo, a fire sign. It was given that official title by the media and was adopted by astrologers from all over the world because the shadow of the eclipse (the place where the light of the sun was blocked out) was right over the United States. Though it isn’t as powerful as the upcoming eclipse of 2020, it still brought about noticeable change in the country and plenty of natural disasters along with it.
Just a few days after the eclipse on August 25th 2017, Hurricane Harvey hit the Texas Gulf and brought with it record rainfall and catastrophic flooding. 2017 was officially the costliest year on record for natural disasters in the United States, with an estimated cost of around 306 billion dollars, and was the 3rd hottest year on record with San Francisco reporting its hottest temperature of 106 degrees fahrenheit. Following the hurricane disasters, October brought us the Tubb’s Fire in Sonoma County, California which is considered the 2nd most destructive wildfire next to the California Camp Fire of 2018.
This is just one example of how eclipses affect worldly events and bring change and transformation. And the solar eclipse of 2020 will be a significant one. In Astrology and ancient astronomy, there is a phenomena called the Metonic Cycle of eclipses. It is a 19 year cycle in which eclipses will repeat themselves and fall on or near the same degrees and or sign placement. What makes the Solar Eclipse of 2020 significant is that it is the 19 year metonic cycle that stimulates the Solar Eclipse of 2001 that preceded the September 11th terror attacks of the World Trade Center.
Back on June 21st 2001, that solar eclipse fell at 0 Degrees 10 Minutes of the sign of Cancer, and the Solar Eclipse of 2020 falls at 0 Degrees 21 Minutes of Cancer. On September 9th through 13th 2001, The planet Mars passed over that 0 Degree Cancer. Mars in astrology is a planet of attack, violence, war, and terror. Its moons are named in Greek as Phobos and Deimos, which means “fear” and “panic”. Mars is considered a malefic planet. When mars makes contact to an eclipse point, it stimulates the energy of the eclipse and often coincides with crisis and conflict. Mars transits to eclipse points will be the key timer of events, especially the eclipse of 2020.
Before I delve into the prediction, I would like to mention something called the Nodes of the Moon. We have a south node and a north node, and the nodes are the two points at which the orbit of the Moon intersects the ecliptic. The north node is where the Moon moves into the northern ecliptic hemisphere, while the south node is where the Moon enters the southern ecliptic hemisphere. In ancient times these were also referred to as the Dragon’s head and Dragon’s tail. In astrology, when an eclipse has the influence of north node, the events of the eclipse can be sudden because the energy is “incoming” with ease. Unlike the south node which often times the transformation is held back and has some resistance and unwillingness.
A major similarity with the eclipse of 2020 and the eclipse of 2001 is that not only do these two eclipses fall in the exact same degree and sign, they also are both conjunct the north node of Moon, making it easier for events to transpire suddenly and with lots of energy. Now let’s dissect the eclipse of 2020 and get right into prediction.
The Solar Eclipse of 2020 happens June 20th 2020 at 11:42 PM MST, 10:42PM for those of you in Seattle. Depending on your timezone it will fall on June 21st in the early hours of the morning, the same date as the Solar Eclipse of 2001. This eclipse falls in the water sign of Cancer. Cancer is a cardinal sign which means it is highly energetic, and Cancer is concerned with the home, family, domestics, the homeland and even security. So our keyword here for the eclipse is “homeland security”. We saw this theme take precedent in 2001, and it will also be of focus again. Since the U.S. is the major ruling power of the world, I believe this eclipse will have a major effect on us here.
The rising sign, also known as the ascendent is the place of major focal energy manifestation. It is where the Sun and all the planets and stars rise. In Washington DC, the rising sign will be Taurus which rules over money and finances, the stock market, etc. This will have an effect all over the country, even though the ascendant may vary based on timezone. Here in Colorado the rising sign will be in Pisces, and over in Seattle you’ll have it in Aquarius. Washington DC will be of greater influence since it is the central location of the United States Government. So I will be basing my prediction on that.
The United States will take on yet another financial crisis in the coming months after the 2020 eclipse. This is emphasized by the fact that this eclipse is falling on the United States natal Venus. Venus is the planet of relationships and money, and rules over the sign of Taurus. Transiting Venus, which is the placement of Venus during the upcoming eclipse, will be retrograde, further emphasizing some sort of financial fallback, loss, and stress.
I believe a crisis of some kind will trigger the financial hit of the United States sometime down the road following this eclipse. When an eclipse falls on the United States venus, financial issues come into play as a result of the crisis events of the eclipse. Back in 2001, it was Mars that triggered the attacks on the World Trade Center, which led to war with the Middle East, which was followed by the 2007 financial crisis and Housing Market crash. Again, Cancer eclipses affect homes and families, so a house market crash fits the bill of these series of eclipses.
One thing to note in particular is that Mars is challenging the Eclipse of 2020. In Astrology we call this aspect a square, which is a 90 degree angle between the Eclipse and the planet Mars. So when Mars comes to stimulate this Eclipse on April 23rd 2021, is when I think some sort of violent event will take place that can possibly send us into a costly war. The possibility of terror attacks on the homeland again is real, as well as the possibility of domestic terror. Whatever the event, it will happen on U.S. soil. Mars making challenging aspects to this eclipse definitely means there will be a violent event that causes panic and fear. Mars rules war and weaponry like guns.
This is why I think using Mars as a timer will be important, because when Mars hits 0 degrees Cancer, it hits that sensitive eclipse point, and in the case of the 2020 eclipse, it will challenge itself.
In the year 2020, there will be three major power planets in the sign of Capricorn. Capricorn is the sign of government. Pluto, planet of control and secrets, Jupiter the planet of everything massive, and Saturn the planet of government and binding will meet up several times during that year. So I believe some form of mass arrest of government employees may occur sometime during 2020 and 2021.
What makes this eclipse challenging for the mass population is that there will be lots of confusion and uncertainty with the events that transpire. Neptune the planet of illusion is joined up with mars challenging this eclipse. With Neptune in the sign of Pisces, we’ve heard a lot about fake news, and seen a lot of quarreling over what’s real and what’s not. Conspiracy may be a key factor in the confusion. This may even bring about some form of religious extremism and may have something to do with the event that will transpire.
There will be lots of revealing, reversals and having to revisit issues from the past since during this eclipse since 5 planets will be retrograde. These planets include Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto. Retrograde planets are planets that appear to go backwards in the ecliptic from Earth’s point of view.
